Blogs Everest Loves: The Design Fairy

The world of interior design is diverse and versatile, and everyone has their own opinion on what looks good. Every month we like to throw the spotlight on like-minded bloggers who match our approach to homes with their style knowledge – but who has made the grade this month?

The Design Fairy

A great blog that is only just approaching its third birthday, The Design Fairy shares plenty of inspirational ideas for home decorating and interior design. We love the attention to detail that is shown and the use of images really helps bring posts to life; giving us visual aids that show just how certain trends work together.

Originally started when the owner was studying Interior Design, the blog shows a real progression of character which adds another dimension to the fantastic posts. It’s rare that you get to follow the growth and development of someone with such a keen interest in interior design and we certainly relish the opportunity to do so.

Why we love it

Perhaps an easier question to answer would be ‘what don’t we love about The Design Fairy?’ With plenty of interesting posts and an easy to navigate website, we can spend hours browsing this site.

The language is familiar and conversational – so you don’t feel like you need a university degree to understand what’s being discussed. A vast selection of categories means posts are well organised. This is ideal if you’re looking for inspiration on a particular theme (such as Shabby Chic) or product (such as cushions) or if you’re just looking to explore the various avenues of interior design at your own pace.

With tips on how to decorate certain rooms or prepare your home for a change in season as well as personal thoughts on popular trends and the design elements used by leading designers, The Design Fairy shows unyielding dedication to improving the appearance of our homes. Comments are encouraged on all posts and more often than not you’ll get a direct response – a trait we certainly love to see in bloggers.

Whilst all of the posts on The Design Fairy offer a unique and personal approach to interior design there are some which go that extra mile. For those looking to read up on some of the latest trends and innovative ideas, here are a few of our favourite posts from the last month:

Heritage Doors: A Gateway to the Past

No matter what type of home you have you’ll want a front door which matches it. Whilst those with modern properties may find a range of options which fit seamlessly with their home, those in period properties sometimes face a slight struggle – but not anymore.

Another new addition to our popular range of glass reinforced (GRP) doors, our Heritage doors are ideal for those with period properties looking to embrace traditional features. You get the same high levels of security and insulation found in all our glass reinforced doors but with an appearance which takes inspiration from times passed.

These doors stand at the other end of the scale to our ultra-contemporary doors, which are designed with the modern property in mind, but still boast a great range of features.

Taking inspiration from the past

With a choice of 15 colours and a vast selection of decorative and patterned glass options, Everest Heritage Entrance Doors offer unbeatable versatility. You can even have a different colour on the inside of the door to the outside.

Although these doors boast the style benefits of traditional timber front doors, that isn’t to suggest they sacrifice the practical assets of modern styles. Triple glazing ensures that energy efficiency is at the top of the door’s score sheet with a range of security features such as high-security hinges and a stainless-steel locking system to put your mind at rest whether you’re at home or away.

Unlike old doors, our Heritage front doors also boast maintenance-free upkeep. Simply wiping the surface with a damp cloth now and again is all that’s needed to keep them looking brand new. There’s even a lifetime guarantee on the sealed unit as a sign of our confidence in the door’s ability to resist condensation and fogging between the glass panes.

The door frames are reinforced with steel whilst metal brackets prevent the glass being removed from the outside – features which are concealed within the door to maintain the traditional appearance whilst offering you the protection you deserve.

Rigorously tested for security and performance, our Heritage Doors offer a great way to embrace the past whilst making use of everything modern technology has to offer.
